Nearly every wild plant can be made into a culinary or medicinal tea. While some are common on health food store shelves, others are nearly overlooked altogether from the forests, fields, and meadows.
Would you like to fill your cabinet with wild plant teas?
At each month’s Wild Tea Party, come learn how to identify a common wild plant whose leaves, roots, flowers, berries, or bark can be made into a delicious, interesting, and medicinal herbal tea. Learn hands-on how to harvest this plant while gathering a basket of your own to dry and enjoy at home. Afterwards we’ll relax with a hot or iced cup of our wildcrafted tea, and learn a bit more about this plant’s history, uses, and relevance in this changing world.
From hot to cold, subtle to bold, spicy and aromatic to floral and sweet, each tea will be unique, and a window into the excitement of the field and forest’s myriad and ever-changing colors.
What to Bring:
Expect to be walking through woods and fields and sitting on bare ground. Please dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes, and bring some water. Please also bring a gathering basket and an outdoor knife OR a pair of strong scissors. The instructor will notify you if a small trowel is required. You are welcome to bring a pillow or lightweight folding chair if you prefer not to sit on the ground.
