Edible, Medicinal, & Utility Plant Walk

Come on out for one of our monthly plant and/or mushroom walks, a great way to learn about wild plants in-the-field, to verify your plant identification with a local expert, ask questions, and meet other like-minded folks. Each of a season’s walks takes place in a different local landscape, to offer participants a rich exposure to the wide range of edible, medicinal, and useful plants and mushrooms in this region. Every season also offers new opportunities for encountering plants in different stages of growth, and for discovering new ones! So come out and learn with us throughout the year!

Suggest materials: unlined journal/sketchpad, writing utensil, comfortable clothes & walking shoes, and water. Registered participants will receive detailed directions and parking instructions to the walk’s start location.

A few of this months plant celebrities will be Stinging Nettle, Creeping Charlie, Chickweed, Dandelion, Watercress and many more. Come check us out!!

Date: April 20th, 2 – 4 pm     Cost: $15    Location: Parkville, MD     Instructor: Mangy White Bushman

Super informative. Learned so much
on a walk in the park or rather
on the edge of the park. Eating wild
was fun and yummy especially the bounty
of Chicken in the Wood that I made off with.
Victoria is an encyclopedia of all things plant.
Look forward to the next walk.

Had a great time and learned a ton
of information! Maybe at the cooking part
we can find some “May apples” but it was great!
What a wonderful way to spend a delightful
Sunday evening! The wood sorrel will round out
the bitter greens, perfect!
