Play Based Forest and Aquatic Learning

A 4-week immersion into local forests, streams, plants, insects, & wildlife, for the young nature observer and adventurer. In a group of their peers, participants will be able to direct their own learning and take inspiration from the many forms of nature we see, smell, taste, & touch, and perhaps begin to know the woods not as other, but as home.

In this summer adventure series your “little” will start to learn some simple tactics to navigate through a brushy Northeastern forest. We will be adventuring in local ponds, lakes, streams and rivers so please be advised of soggy bottoms upon pickup. In addition to learning our additional goal is saturation and filth.

The locations will change weekly, after you sign up through paypal you will receive the locations list.

Each class is 3 hours. Your littles should bring lunch, water any personal items they may need and some various size carrying containers for treasures.

Instructor facilitated learning along the way may include:

Competitive and Cooperative games
Animal Observation
Tree and Plant Identification
Observation Exercises
Tree Climbing
Sensory Exercises
Negotiating Obstacles
Craft Projects with Natural Material
Camouflage and Concealment

Instructor: Mangy White Bushman
